At H2O School, we are incredibly fortunate to be led by Caro Villeneuve, a world-renowned champion and coach. With a remarkable career as a professional athlete, Caro has earned numerous achievements and qualifications, including holding a World Title. She is widely recognized as a trailblazer in wakesurfing and is distinguished as the first and only woman to receive the prestigious "Legend" Award.

Caro has shared her expertise with countless clients, teaching them the art of wakesurfing. With over 25 years of experience navigating boats, she also possesses the skills and knowledge to educate you and your family on wakesurfing techniques, wake optimization, boat driving techniques and of course, safe boating practices... so you can enjoy a stress-free summer on the water.

Education & Qualifications

  • Kinesiology Degree

  • NCCP Wake Sports Coaching Certification

  • EMA First Responder

  • First Aid, CPR, AED and OFA level 3

  • Pleasure Craft & Restricted Maritime Operator's Certificate

  • Fluent in French & English

Coaching experience

  • Coached over 5000 people in wakesurfing

  • Coached 100 athletes who made it to the National and/or International Competitive Scene. Most of them competed (or still compete) at the Pro level.

  • Caro has coached wakesurfing in several countries: Switzerland, Bahamas, France, Russia, Dubai, Japan, USA and all across Canada.

  • From Caro's past students 7 new wakesurf schools have been established in Western Canada & USA.

Wakesurf Achievements

  • Coaches both Skim and Surf style athletes, all skill levels (from Beginner to Pro), specializing in Skim Style

  • 2020 Recipient of the "Legend" Award

  • 2015 World Wakesurf Champion (pro female skim)

  • 2015 "Wakesurf Person of the Year" Award

  • Pro athlete since 2007

  • Competition podium in Pro Women Skim division; 77 times out of 94 competitions attended (42 First places & 24 Second places)

  • Competition podium at the World Wakesurfing Championship; 8 times out of 11, including a World Title and 4 Second places.

  • Gold medals from 5 out of 6 countries.

  • Had a Pro Model Board for 5 consecutive years

Other Experience & Involvement

  • 25+ years boat driving and coaching experience

  • 5 years for the Canadian Coast Guard (Search & Rescue Program)

  • 4 years on the Wake Canada Board of directors

  • Judge in 6 different countries (including 6 years judging pro divisions at the World Wakesurfing Championship). Recognized as one of the few qualified head-judges and pro judges for wakesurfing events in the world. 

  • 7 years on the CWSA Board of directors

  • Integral part of the creation of the current World Ranking System (WRS)
