Ben has been coaching with H2O school since our beginnings in 2011. He is fully certified (wakesurf and flyboard instructor) and can definitely offer helpful advice and tips to improve your skills in ways that our students are often never aware of without their experienced eye. Ben is definitely our most experienced coach for first timers, beginners or intermediate riders, and sure can take great care of larger groups. Ben has been trained and working side by side by former World Champion and owner Caro Villeneuve.
H2O School coaches have knowledge and experience that reflects in the quality of their coaching and they can get the most uncoordinated people up and surfing! Many of our clients have told us they tried wakesurfing without proper instructions in the past, couldn’t get up successfully and then gave up on the sport altogether. This is EXACTLY what we are trying to avoid, come surf with us and we will show you how to fall in love with the sport, just like we have.
For those who already know how to wakesurf and are not convinced that they need lessons, let us help you land that new trick with immediate feedback. We can take your summer hobby to the next level by refining your style and posture while training you to perform the tricks you thought you knew at an all-new level of perfection.
Ben is also our expert in Flyboarding! Don't miss out and check out our FLYBOARD section for more details!

We are so lucky at H2O School to have a world-renown champion and coach as our owner and operator. Caro Villeneuve is a very talented professional athlete with an impressive list of qualifications and unique experiences. She coaches a variety of sports including wakeboarding and hydroflight but her area of specialty and true passion will always be wakesurfing.
Caro studied kinesiology in Montreal; coached several aquatic disciplines including lifeguarding for 15 years; worked 5 years for the Canadian Coast Guard Search & Rescue program; taught CPR and the Pleasure Craft Operator courses to hundreds of people; started coaching wakesurfing and wakeboarding in Quebec in 2007; opened H2O School on Lake Koocanusa in 2011; travelled to the Bahamas, USA, Switzerland, Dubai, Russia, France, Japan and all across Canada to coach private lessons and camps. She founded the Rocky Mountain Wakesurfing Association (non-profit) and has been organizing the Koocanusa Wakesurf Challenge from 2012 to 2017. She served on the board of directors of the Competitive Wakesurf Association (CWSA) for 7 years and was an integral part of the creation of the current World Ranking System (WRS). Caro has been judging several events in 6 different countries (including at the World Wakesurfing Championship for 6 years) and she is recognized as one of the few qualified head-judges for wakesurfing events in the world.
In addition to her impressive coaching, judging and boating experience, Caro is also an accomplished athlete and a pioneer of the sport. In 2015, her accomplishments and her involvement to grow the sport was recognized and she won the very prestigious award “Wakesurfing Person of the Year”.
Caro began wakeboarding first, then progressed onto wakesurfing because it was a new exciting challenge. She started to compete in the pro women division in 2007 and she made the podium over 60 times out of the 71 wakesurfing events she ever attended in her professional career (including 34 first places and 22 second places). For the past decade, many female athletes have been inspired by Caro's skills, style, sportsmanship and innovations. The sport has been growing exponentially in Western Canada and Caro has definitely been a big part of it. Over the years of travel and competitions, Caro also managed to bring back the gold from 5 of the 6 countries she travelled to. She has been competing at the World Wakesurfing Championship for the past 8 years, where she placed on the podium 7 years in a row and won the World Title in 2015. Caro is a leader and a role model for many athletes. Her passion is contagious and she might just be the best coach you’ll ever get the chance to learn from!
